Diversity Girls is a new summer enrichment program founded by Kim Thomas for elementary and pre-teen girls (ages 7-12) in Hampton, VA. The young girls come from diverse backgrounds seeking to appreciate and enjoy the company of each other. During their meetings, the club members: diversitygirls5

Read books and write in journals
Sing and dance
Make arts and crafts
Explore other cultures
Prepare non-cook desserts
Make a memorable summer video
Takes pictures
Go for walks at the park
Have lots of fun!

The goal of Diversity Girls summer enrichment program is for girls to expand their knowledge and maintain and grow beyond their current skills and abilities during the summer months.

Afro Puffs and Ponytails is constantly searching for information about clubs and organizations to provide as resources for parents and community organizers. It is our hopes that each resource provided will serve to build confidence, enhance self esteem, instill leadership skills, empower, uplift and educate our African American girls.
