Gems of Virtue, is a non-profit provider of leading edge mentor services and character building education for girls ages 7-19. The goal of this program is to foster a loving environment of sisterhood through interactive forums and workshops, community service projects, field –trips, and extra – curricular outlets that encourage the development of positive social, physical, academic and ethical decision-making skills. By promoting healthy behaviors & attitudes such as self-awareness, self-respect, self-determination and self-reliance our precious stones Grace, Wisdom and Beauty will learn the grace of being a lady.

Afro Puffs and Ponytails is constantly searching for information about camps, clubs and organizations, and mentoring programs to provide as resources for parents and community organizers. It is our hopes that each resource provided will serve to build confidence, enhance self esteem, develop leadership skills, empower, uplift and educate our African American girls. We are not recommending these programs, but offering a starting point for you to conduct your own evaluation and research about whether a program is right for your child.
