Made 2B More was formed by Rhonda Mincey, President and CEO, after realizing the urgent need for young girls to have a safe and nurturing place to assemble in order to address the challenging and complex issues that inevitably confronts them. She knew that with proper guidance, girls could have good self-esteem, transform into young ladies and become leaders and positive role models.
Made 2B More has two main programs: The “Leaders” Program and the ”S.I.S.T.E.R.S.” (Stay in School to Excel, Rise, and Succeed) Program. The Leaders program is a year long program that begins in August and goes through May at which time a ceremony is held. Parents must commit for the full year. Enrollment is limited. Sessions cover such topics as Self-Esteem, Abstinence, Peer-Pressure, Media Madness, Decision Making, Goal Setting, Leadership, Life-skills, and much more. Our girls perform community service, hear from great speakers, and enjoy outings.
The “S.I.S.T.E.R.S.” (Stay in School to Excel, Rise, and Succeed) Program is being held in partnership with The Crossroads Center, a school for at-risk youth in Warner Robins, Georgia. the “S.I.S.T.E.R.S.” program encourages and empowers girls, through weekly in-school sessions, to make wise decisions and be more than average.

Afro Puffs and Ponytails is constantly searching for information about camps, clubs and organizations, and mentoring programs to provide as resources for parents and community organizers. It is our hope that each resource provided will serve to build confidence, improve self esteem, develop leadership skills, empower, uplift and educate our African American girls. We are not recommending these programs, but offering a starting point for you to conduct your own evaluation and research about whether a program is right for your child.
