Inner Peace and A Journal of Joy For African American Girls
Prayer for Inner Peace and A Journal of Joy For Girls

Do you feel that things never work out for you? Does it appear that everyone is against you? Do you feel alone, unloved, and insignificant? Well, if you feel that no matter what you do, that nothing is ever in your favor, consider this before you claim gloom and doom as the ultimate all for all.
Our Father in heaven loves you dearly. He loves you more than you know. He wants the best for you and is always eager to hear from you. If you have tried everything else and it has failed, try the One who can never fail. Seek to know Him and He will make the way clear and possible for you to do so. Try building a relationship with Him and you will be amazed at how much easier it is to experience peace and joy.
“Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your request be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4: 6-7
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,”
Galations 5:22
Look in the mirror, smile, and say these words: I am a beautiful African American young lady and I am loved beyond measure.
Here are 3 simple suggestions to help foster peace and joy in your daily life:
First, get yourself a journal. Write your name in it, the current date, and entitle it, My Journal of Joy and Peace. Each day, date a section and write only the good things that happen during the day.
Pray at least twice each day. Preferably, pray in the morning to start your day off on a good note, and every night before you go to bed. Use your prayer time to accomplish the following things:
- Thank God for your blessings. It may be that you thank Him for blessing you to be able to walk, talk, eat, and sleep. You may want to thank Him for your family and friends or your health. Thank Him at the beginning of your prayers. You want Him to know you appreciate the things you have before you ask for things that you want.
- Share with God all of the things that are troubling you and petition Him for the things you want. During your morning prayer, thank Him for waking you and be sure to ask Him to be with you throughout your day. During your prayer before bed, share your concerns, worries, and ask Him to forgive you for any trespasses you may have committed again Him or others. Tell Him how you feel. He is eager to hear all about it.
After 7 days, read all of the good things in your journal that happened during the week and thank God…again. That’s it!
The more you release your troubles to the One who can change anything you are experiencing in your life, the sooner the gloom and doom will fade and peace will follow. The more you are able to recognize the blessings you have, the happier you will be.
